Rockwell Automation has launched a new full Gigabit Stratix 5400 industrial switch

(Milwaukee, USA, April 9, 2015). Rockwell Automation has expanded its Allen Bradley Stratix industrial switch series, adding a new full Gigabit Allen Bradley Stratix 5400 switch, helping manufacturers achieve higher speeds to meet the application needs of increasing bandwidth. The switch also has layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing functions, and supports a variety of network configurations

Internet enterprises require network convergence, enhanced reliability and more and more high-speed equipment, which drives the market demand for industrial switches with higher performance and more versatility, said Mark Devonshire, product manager of Rockwell Automation. Stratix 5400 switch has this capability, which can help manufacturers adopt a reliable architecture to meet the expanding network demand

when used as a layer 2 switch, Stratix 5400 switch is very suitable for industrial environments where IP cameras and other high-performance terminal devices supporting Gigabit speed are collected. In addition, this switch is also suitable for heavy industrial applications that require an elastic network topology. When used as a layer 3 switch, it can support the routing between segmented networks, thus helping to achieve better performance

this switch adopts full Gigabit design and can support high-performance network and terminal equipment. It also supports GE power over Ethernet (POE) and has more Ge fiber port options to enhance scalability, which helps meet the needs of various applications

stratix 5400 switches have 18 different models, and one switch can provide up to 20 Gigabit ports, which can meet various application requirements. The default configuration helps simplify setup, optimize performance, and improve diagnostic retrieval. Stratix 5400 switch also has network address translation function, which can shorten the debugging time. This switch combines advanced Cisco technology and source code level integration with Rockwell Automation integration architecture system with a maximum sample width of 100mm, and can provide solutions familiar to information technology (it) and operation technology (OT) professionals

we will continue to work hard to help customers accelerate IOT innovation. We are very honored to further expand our partnership with Rockwell Automation, jointly provide customers with the solutions they need, and help customers introduce real-time connectivity and enterprise intelligence into the industrial environment in a highly secure (be careful not to touch the needle and pendulum) and scalable way, said Rick esker, senior director of ecosystem at Cisco Industrial Solutions Group
